According to Calciomercato, Nottingham Forest are interested in Japhet Tanganga and are willing to pay €25 million for the defender. The Premier League newcomers are hoping to reach an agreement in principle with Tottenham after a potential move to AC Milan for the defender reportedly fell through.

Japhet Tanganga has been a long-term target for AC Milan this summer, and the Rossoneri remain hopeful of bringing him to San Siro. Despite a period when the Serie A champions were focused on other targets, they are back in the running for the Tottenham defender.

Tanganga has fallen out of favour at Tottenham, particularly since the arrival of Antonio Conte. In the summer, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino strengthened the central defensive position and right-back slots, where Tanganga previously played for the club. And this summer, he has been amongst those who Spurs have been actively looking to get rid of.

The Italian titans had no objections to the price, but they wanted it to be an option rather than a requirement.

According to the report, Nottingham Forest are ‘close to reaching an agreement’ with Tottenham.
