Everyone knows that Manchester City are a club that likes to spend and have quality players in its squad. It got revived in 2008 when City Football Group took over the club. Since then, they haven’t stopped spending and have got their hands on silverware.

Manchester City broke the British transfer record in 2021 to sign Jack Grealish. But they had already achieved 60 million sales in that summer, thus lowering the expenditure significantly.
Even the last summer, City spent around 120 million. They acquired Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez, and Julian Alvarez. But again they did the same thing and made sales from the first team and the academy, thus generating 150 million. This is how they show a healthy positive net spend.
This can be done again this year. City have their eyes set on the 19 years old, Jude Bellingham. He will cost about 150 million. As well as given their current squad, they would like to purchase a proper left back, with Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo both have left the club.
However, there are many players who can leave the club and City could show their healthy profit even if they sign two or three players world-class players in the summer.
The most influential players are on the verge to leave the club and City never goes against the players’ will if they want to leave.
Gundogan will be running out of contract in the coming summer and has decided not to sign any another contract with City. Bernardo Silva is the other player that might the club.
Even though Joao Cancelo is out of the loan at Bayern Munich, they have the clause to make it a permanent transfer for 61 million. Even if they don’t make it permanent, City could look for another suitor.
Aymeric Laporte might also leave the club in the coming summer with Barcelona having a keen interest in the player. This week, Jack Steffen also has no plans to return to Etihad. The club also has a number of loan and academy players who will seek permanent moves.

City have always boosted funds like this and from sell-on clauses for players sold in previous years. While other clubs in the Premier League, like Chelsea and others, throw millions of money into transfers but doesn’t sell the player at an equal rate. It will be good to see how City does its business and if they do it the same way as the previous year, then they would be making profits in two consecutive summers.
